Dr. George Mastoras

Medical Director

Dr. Mastoras is a specialist in Emergency Medicine with diverse clinical experiences in a range of healthcare settings. After an undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, he completed his MD at the University of Calgary and attended University of Ottawa for residency in Emergency Medicine with additional subspecialty training in Resuscitation Medicine and Simulation-based medical education. Currently he practices as an Emergency Physician in Toronto and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Academically, Dr. Mastoras’s work focuses on optimizing how teams and systems perform during the early care of critically ill patients, and he teaches and speaks nationally on a range of topics in patient safety, simulation, and resuscitation. He has been with Rocket Doctor since 2020, first as a clinician, then as a Medical Advisor, Provincial practice lead, and recently moving into the Medical Director role. Beyond medicine, he is father to four, and enjoys cooking, hiking, coaching and playing hockey, and leading Cub Scouts adventures.
